TROWBRIDGE & DISTRICT LEAGUE DIVISION TWO: Ashton share points with Bratton

Bratton led through a Chris Storey goal on 10 minutes but they were pegged back before half time when Guy Rowley scored from the penalty spot to restore parity for Ashton.

Ashton got their noses in front in the second period with Gary Collins pounced on a goal keeping error to give them a 2-1 lead but they were unable to keep their advantage as a penalty from D J Wheeler bagged Bratton their share of the points.

Trowbridge Wanderers Reserves 2 Worton & Cheverell 3

TROWBRIDGE Wanderers Reserves saw their promotion aspirations suffer a blow after they were beaten 3-2 by a Worton & Cheverell side who had suffered defeat by the same scoreline when they teams met back in September.

Wanderers went 2-0 up, Will Bayley scoring a header from a Mike Ritson corner and Dan Hall doubling the score with a crisp 10 yard finish from the outside of his boot.

Worton fought their way back into the game and it was game on when Martin Dickinson netted before half time.

Worton fashioned an equaliser in the second half with Carl Ledbury making it two apiece and although both teams searched for a winner it was Worton who came up trumps as a second of the afternoon from Dickinson saw them pick up their third excellent result on the bounce.

Westbury Town 1 Heytesbury 1

WITH their pitch in Bratton under water Westbury Town opted to make the short trip to relegation threatened Heytesbury to save a fixture and both sets of players were rewarded for their efforts as the spoils were shared following a 1-1 draw.

Westbury took a first half lead through a third goal of the season from James Reeves but with 10 minutes remaining Paul Arnold netted the goal that earned Heytesbury their point.
