FARINGDON Town kept the pressure on the leading pack at the top of North Berks League Division One with a tight 2-1 victory at home to Sutton Courtenay.

Gary Sutton and Robert Owen scored their goals with Ollie Wright replying for Sutton. Faringdon now sit fourth in the table, four points off the top two.

An Adam Brooks penalty and a Josh Nicholls strike gave Wootton & Dry Sandford a tight 2-1 win at Benson AFC, a fourth consecutive victory that moves them level on points with Didcot Casuals at the top of the division. Max Gallagher scored for Benson.

Division Two leaders Abingdon United Reserves won 5-0 against Coleshill United thanks to doubles from Adam Oram and Steve Pitson and a Chris Hooper strike. Second played third in Division Three, with Faringdon Town Reserves beating Harwell International Reserves 2-1 to move level on points with their opponents. In Division Four, Wootton & Dry Sandford Reserves beat Coleshill United Reserves 3-1.

Division Five league leaders Berinsfield Reserves were involved in a remarkable 17-goal thriller with Challow that they eventually won 9-8.

Martin Key hit a hat-trick for Faringdon Town A in their 6-1 win at Sutton Courtenay Reserves to keep them in touch with the leaders. In the Berks & Bucks Junior Cup fourth round, Turnpike Sports won 3-1 at Compton.

In an all-North Berks League match, Division Three leaders Childrey United Reserves won 2-0 at Division Two side Wantage Town A thanks to goals from Dan Cannings and Tom Weeks. Hanney United lost 1-0 to Lambourn Sports Reserves.
