TROWBRIDGE & District League officials will decide whether or not to launch the Division Two and Spring Cup competitions in March after another Saturday’s fixture programme was lost at the weekend.

Having lost the complete second round of Chantry Digital-sponsored Knockout Cup matches back in November – just two of the planned games going ahead a fortnight ago – the latest snow and ice has thrown the competition into further chaos.

A league spokesman said: “With the loss of two thirds of fixtures in the last two months and with things expected to get worse before they start to get any better, the league’s management committee are hoping for an improvement in the weather for the remainder of the season as they look to get the league and both existing cup competitions back on track.

“They must now decide whether or not it is realistic to introduce the Division Two and Spring Cup in March, which as things stands right now, looks very unlikely.’’
