ASSISTANT boss Richard Fey thinks Chippenham Town’s next three games could define their season.

The Bluebirds take on struggling Redditch United this weekend before travelling to Bedworth United and Bashley on February 23 and 26 respectively.

Town conceded an injury-time equaliser to draw 1-1 at Bedford last Saturday and Fey says it is time to start putting points on the board to ensure they aren’t looking over their shoulders come the final weeks of the season.

“We really need to be looking at maximum points from our next three games because they’re all against sides below us – it’ll really go a long way to defining our season.

“This season is our first one in charge and it’s been a massive learning curve for us but if we were to win those three, that could help us towards the top ten and I think that would be a good finish.

“For 80 minutes against Hemel Hempstead and 93 minutes against Bedford last weekend, the attitude and the commitment from the players has been all there and if we can carry on playing like that, then we’ll be fine.

“But the league table doesn’t lie and we need to pick up points to make sure that we don’t end up getting dragged into it near the bottom.

“We’ve set the players a target for the rest of the season and they almost got off to a great start on Saturday.”
