DEVIZES got their Dorset & Wilts One North campaign back on track with victory over the division’s bottom side.
With Ryan Webb’s boot establishing territorial control, Devizes took the lead when Webb kicked a penalty.
Avonvale were level when Ryan Wallbridge was sin-binned for a late hit and Devizes were marched back another 10 metres for backchat, making the levelling kick easier.
Despite being down to 14 men though, Devizes continued to control proceedings, Webb successful with one of three kicks to regain the lead.
Devizes’ domination continued into the second period, Dean Curle adjudged to have been held up as he went over the line.
Eventually though, the forwards drove their opponents off a scrum and Tim Alchin burrowed over, Matty Holloran adding the conversion.
Holloran was later sin-binned, but Avonvale also lost a man late on as Devizes comfortably saw the game out.
