NORTH Wilts men completed their 2012-13 Wessex League campaign on a high with a victory over Nailsea last Sunday.

They beat the North Somerset side by six shots as they ran-out 75-69 victors to collect 12 points out of a possible 16 on offer.

But with Christie Miller also winning and going two points better by collecting 14 points, North Wilts, who won three of their six matches, finished the season in fourth place in the central region table.

The match against Nailsea centred on home advantage as both sides made it pay for them.

Roger Button, replacing Justin Davis at skip, led his rink at Westcroft (Chippenham) to a commanding 15 shots victory in a 26-11 success.

And with Wayne Snook’ s quartet taking the honours 28-19 for North Wilts the combined home advantage of 24 shots was sufficient to compensate for the 11 shot loss by Max Clark’s rink and seven shot reverse suffered by Billy McCay’s quartet away in Nailsea.
