RUGBY: Corsham 15 Trowbridge 42

TROWBRIDGE set up a titanic meeting with Southern Counties South leaders Devizes this Saturday with a bonus-point success at Lacock Road.

The visitors struggled against the Corsham pack in the first half and broke the deadlock against the run of play as James David broke 60 metres to score, Lloyd Davis converting.

Corsham responded with a penalty from Karl Brant and continued to dominate up front, creating an overlap out wide which allowed Andy Williamson to stroll in under the posts, Brant adding the extras.

Tom Weaver kicked a long-range penalty for Trowbridge but Corsham again responded with a try from Chris Jones, Brant missing the conversion.

Ashley Chalk touched down for the visitors and the conversion and a penalty from Davis to take a five-point lead at half time.

Trowbridge started the second half at a much higher pace and Davis added another penalty before veteran Mark Durant crashed through out wide and Davis added the extras.

Corsham’s Wes Newsom was yellow-carded, allowing Chalk his second, Davis converting, then adding a try of his own.
