SUPERMARINE Ladies managed to beat the weather, but couldn’t get the better of Henley as they went down 32-3.
On a weekend where the club’s men saw their Southern Counties South game with Dorchester called off due to heavy rain, the ladies went to Henley but were soon on the back-foot as the hosts took the lead.
The strong home pack kept the Swindon side at bay, but the visitors managed to defend well and prevent the opposition from breaking away when it looked as though they had chances to score.
When Marine were handed a yellow card they conceded again, though, although they did kick a penalty to earn their only points of the afternoon.
Try as they might they couldn’t get back into the game in the second-half as they slipped to defeat.
In men’s rugby, Swindon College Old Boys were awarded victory over Littlemore with the visitors unable to raise a side.
