WILTSHIRE'S Minor Counties Championship Western Division match against hosts Cheshire remained on a knife-edge after day two at Chester Boughton Hall yesterday.
The home side had closed day one on Sunday on 321-6 from 76 overs but were eventually bowled out for 394 in 90 overs, Tahir Afridi ending with 6-97 for the visitors.
Replying, Wiltshire totalled 315 all out in 77 overs, Goatacre opener Ed Kilbee making 77.
The visitors were 173-6 when Henry Langford was dismissed for 54 but a fine partnership of 117 between vice-captain Tom Morton (63) and Corsham's Ashur Morrison (65) helped nudge them to within 79 of their rivals' total.
Adam Syddall took 4-71 for the home side.
In their secong innings, Cheshire closed day two on 70-3, Michael Coles striking twice to leave them 149 ahead.
