TENNIS: Duo claim Ramsbury titles

THERE were new names on Ramsbury Tennis Club’s men’s and ladies singles trophies after their finals day last Saturday.
Steven Lloyd defeated David Langton to win the men’s event and Sarah Seaman beat Wendy Osmond in the women’s.
The ladies doubles saw Amelia Tester and Alex Scott get their names on the trophy for the seventh time, defeating Gill Devey and Jan Nightingale.
The mens doubles went to Ed Pope and Peter Osmond, who overcame David Langton & Mark Stone 8-6 in a final-set tie break.
Langton partnered talented junior Harriet Eyles to the mixed doubles against Peter Willetts Tester At 12 & under level, Lucy Strover defeated her sister in a family final and in the boys event Alexander Renwick beat Joe McQue.
The 10 & under saw George Wardley defeat Jonathan Jarjis. Wardley was also awarded the ‘Junior of the Year Trophy’.
Club president Ethel Hutchings was on hand to present the prizes to all the winners.
