Skipper Dickens says blip is in the past

SUPERMARINE skipper Matt Dickens has insisted last week’s loss at Devizes 2nds is now firmly behind his side.
Marine went down 7-6 in a difficult game last weekend, in which coach Sean Millwaters felt his side were the better team and questioned a number of refereeing decisions.
Dickens admitted the Marine dressing room was a little flat last time out, but insisted the same will not be true when they host Minety tomorrow.
“Last weekend it just didn’t really seem to go for us,” he said.
“In the dressing room everyone just seemed to be a little flat and that really didn’t help us, but we have to move on from it now.
“It was just a blip because we have done well at the start of the season, and I’m confident we will be able to put it behind us.”
Dickens admitted he doesn’t know a great deal about Minety, but he won’t be worrying himself by looking at the form guide.
“It doesn’t really matter how either team have done before because it’s all about on the day, so we don’t look into things too much,” he said.
Elsewhere, Wootton Bassett are in action at Wallingford.
