CALOR LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION: Bideford 4 Chippenham Town 1
CHIPPENHAM Town suffered their second 4-1 defeat in four days tonight as they were well-beaten by high-flying Bideford.
Steve Winter's men, who were also beaten by the same scoreline at Burnham last weekend, were unable to put the brakes on the unbeatean Robins in Devon as they slipped to their eighth defeat of the season
Sean Downing glanced home the opening goal for Bideford from a corner kick with ten minutes on the clock but the Bluebirds levelled matters from a corner of their own 15 minutes later, with top-scorer Alan Griffin heading in his sixth goal of the season from a Joe McClennan delivery.
Griffin struck the woodwork either side of half-time but the Bluebirds went behind as they conceded a penalty midway through the second period, which was fired home by Matt Hockley.
On-loan Torquay United striker Ashley Yeoman fired home Bideford's third of the evening in the 77th minute as the hosts turned up the heat and Hockley rounded off the scoring with a spectacular volley from outside the area two minutes later.
Winter's men go looking to return to winning ways when Chesham United visit Hardenhuish Park this weekend.
