As always, thanks for following Bluebirds Live this afternoon.
There was a distinct lack of movement coming from the Chippenham Town dressing room as the inquest into today's loss to Chesham got underway.
We'll have reaction from today's disappoting defeat in next week's Gazette & Herald. Don't forget to log on to gazetteandherald.co.uk/sport again next Wednesday evening as the Bluebirds travel to Frome Town in the Red Insure Cup
And that brings this afternoon's proceedings to an end.
It's a sobering experience for the Bluebirds as they slip to a third defeat in a row. Chesham were clinical and took their chances when they came whilst defending well when they needed to.
Chippenham have a short break from the Calor League Premier Division coming up, with a trip to West Country rivals Frome Town in the Red Insure Cup on Wednesday night before it's the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy this time next week
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 CHESHAM UNITED 3
Chesham substitute Effiong shows a smart tun of pace to get past a blue shirt but his low strike is blocked by the legs of John
Joe Tumelty looks to be clipped from behind and grabs the ball expecting a free-kick but the referee wasn't convinced and blows for the handball - that sums up a frustrating afternoon for Chippenham
Blackmore slides in Knighton with a great through ball but the linesman's flag comes straight up
The ball fals invitingly to Jack Allward, who cuts inside on to his right foot but sees his strike blocked by a defender
Chesham threaten again, with the ball cut back to Roberts but he's denied a fourth of the afternoon as his strike is deflected wide
Ten minutes to go at Chippenham and it's still 3-0 to Chesham United
Great save from Bluebirds goalie John. John Kyriacou whips in a great cross from the right flank and striker Dillon nods goalwards but the effort is well-held by the Chippenham keeper.
At the other end, Griffin blasts a strike way over the bar
Blackmore, who usually plays in defence, has been thrown on as an emergency striker! Can he spark an unlikely comeback?
SUBSTITUTION: Joe McClennan goes off for Shane Blackmore as the Bluebirds make their final change of the afternoon
The Chippenham defence almost gift Chesham a fourth!
Tovey and Adams both give the ball away in quick succession, allowing substitute Inih Effoing a run on goal, but his strike is saved by the onrushing John.
Dodged a bullet there!
Looks like another relegation struggle of a season... "@gazsport: GOAL: Chippenham Town 0 Chesham United 3 #bluebirdslive"— @rafamoroni 12 October 2013
The visitors are looking content to sit on their lead now after being put in the driving seat by Roberts' hat-trick.
There's around 18 minutes left to play at Hardenhuish Park
Chippenham go close to reducing the deficit!
McClennan goes on a jinking run and his lofted cross is over the head of keeper Gore but Knighton can only head over under pressure from a Chesham defender
Purnell wins the ball off Chesham's Wilson on the edge of the area and has time to steady himself for a shot but his strike cannons into defender Brathwaite.
At the other end, Potton attempts to catch out John with a smart first-time effort
There's all sorts of carnage going on all of a sudden! Greg Tindle and Drew Roberts are tustling off the ball whilst there's a huge scramble a few yards up the pitch, which eventually ends with Chippenham winning a free-kick - for something!
DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION: Steve Winter responds to going 3-0 down by replacing Luke Murden and Joe Lennox with Tom Knighton and Joe Tumelty
And Roberts dusts himself off and fires home to the right of John to claim his hat-trick.
Chippenham had started the second period comfortably but concede another in the blink of a an eye
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 CHESHAM UNITED 3
Chesham win a penalty! Roberts cuts into the area and Murden lunges in to challenge him but catches the striker's left leg
It's a fairly even start to the second period, with no real action so far.
And the second period gets underway!
Chippenham emerge back for the second half, closely followed by Chesham.
Doesn't look as though there'll be any changes at half-time
Steve Winter's voice can be heard booming down the tunnel. The Chippenham manager is giving his side a right roasting at half-time
And that brings a frustrating first half to a close at Hardenhuish Park.
There's no doubting that title-chasers Chesham are a very good side. But the main difference has been that when chances have fallen to the visitors, they've taken them.
They lead 2-0 thanks to two fine finishes from Drew Roberts. Chippenham have threatened to hit back on occasion and this one is far from over yet.
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 CHESHAM UNITED 2
A big chance goes begging for the visitors.
It's another wicked set-piece delivery from Wilson, this time from a corner, and the ball finds its way to full-back Brathwaite at the far post but he can't control his volley and blazes well over
At the other end, James Potton connects with Wilson corner at the near post but can't get his effort anywhere near the target
And Chippenham go close to pulling a goal back again.
McClennan whips in another superb set-piece, which is met by the head of Griffin, but the Bluebirds striker's effort flies over the bar
The Bluebirds put together a smart piece of play in the Chesham box with Purnell, Griffin and Lennox all getting their foot on the ball but none of the trio can get a shot away and the danger is eventually cleared
Chippenham had begun to feel their way back into the game but all of a sudden, Roberts has his second of the game.
Chesham win the ball back outside the Bluebirds area and Steve Wales slips in a superb through ball, which is deftly lobbed over the onrushing John by striker Roberts.
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 CHESHAM UNITED 2
There's a short delay as Chesham's Danny Brathwaite is down on the floor after he lead with his head to challenge Ross Adams
McClennan whips a super free-kick into the danger area but that's headed behind for a corner by Danny Gordon
Purnell has a crack at goal but that's blocked by the visiting defence
From a Chippenham free-kick, Chesham break on the counter-attack and the pacey Roberts somehow loses his right boot!
That doesn't stop the striker getting on the end of a through ball but when it comes to shooting, he goes with his left foot and skews his effort wide of the target
Roberts goes for goal again but this time, it's comfortably gathered by keeper John
Chesham win another free-kick as Chris Dillon goes down under the attentions of Tindle. That looked very soft though
So Chesham have the lead and striker Roberts, who has been prolific for Bedford Town and Arlesey Town in recent seasons, threatens again with a lobbed effort that's eventually cleared by the Chippenham defence
That's harsh for the Bluebirds to take. Steve Wales goes on a run and draws a foul not far outside the box. Striker Drew Roberts steps up and curls a superb free-kick over the wall and past the reach of the despairing John to give Chesham the lead
CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0 CHESHAM UNITED 1
Meanwhile, the visitors win a free-kick in a shooting position...
That was excruciatingly close to an opening goal for Chippenham
The Bluebirds go SO close to taking the lead. The Chesham centre-halves get themselves in a muddle and head the ball into the path of Lennox.
Keeper Shane Gore is off his line and the Bluebirds winger goes for a deft lob, which drops agonisingly on to the top of the bar
The visitors are a big, physical side and they look as though they'll be dangerous from set-pieces this afternoon
Chesham's Bruce Wilson floats a free-kick in from the right wing which almost catches out Ben John but the Chippenham goalie recovers to deal with the danger
It looks as though Murden is starting at right-back, with Tovey in central midfield, Lennox on the right wing and McClennan on the left
And we're underway!
Chippenham to kick us off, going down the slope
And out they come!
The two teams are in the tunnel at Hardenhuish Park
So there's just under 15 minutes until kick-off here. Stick with Bluebirds Live for all of the action as it happens
One more tit-bit of possible transfer news. I understand that former Clevedon Town man Ben Murray may have been released by the Bluebirds
Visitors Chesham line up with Drew Roberts and Chris Dillon up top - the duo were both in the goals for Arlesey Town last season.
The Buckinghamshire outfit are in ominous form and have won eight of their ten league games so far
So it's an interesting line-up from Chippenham.
Alan Griffin is the only out-and-out striker in the squad but Joe Lennox or Joe McClennan could line-up in the hole as a 'number ten'.
Both Tovey and Murden could find themselves moved into midfield
CHESHAM UNITED: Shane Gore (c), John Kyriacou, Danny Brathwaite, Mark Lambert, Danny Gordon, Scott Thomas, James Potton, Steve Wales, Chris Dillon, Drew Roberts, Bruce Wilson.
SUBS: Inih Effiong, Toby Little, Laurie Stewart, Alex Brown, James Beasant.
CHIPPENHAM TOWN TEAM TO PLAY CHESHAM UNITED: Ben John, Stuart Tovey, Jack Allward, Ross Adams, Greg Tindle, Iain Harvey, Joe McClennan, Harley Purnell, Joe Lennox, Alan Griffin (c), Luke Murden.
SUBS: Tom Knighton, Joe Tumelty, Shane Blackmore, Lee Phillips.
Right, the teams are in - let's get down to business.
Adams starts alongside Tindle whilst Luke Murden is also in the Chippenham line-up. With full-backs Stuart Tovey and Jack Allward also in the side, youngster Murden could be in line for a midfield role
Former Frome Town midfielder Darren Jefferies has also been training with Chippenham in recent weeks with a view to a move.
The 19-year-old, who came through Bristol Rovers' academy, has been playing abroad in Sweden since last April but requires international clearance before any move to the Bluebirds can be completed
Former Bluebirds captain Ross Adams (pictured) has returned on loan from Basingstoke Town and will partner Greg Tindle in the heart of Steve Winter's defence.
So after two 4-1 defeats on the road, the Bluebirds go looking for a bit of home comfort this afternoon.
The early team news is that James Guthrie has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
In case you haven't been checking gazetteandherald.co.uk/sport though, you may have missed the news that there's an old face back in the Chippenham line-up...
