WARMINSTER kept pace at the top of the Dorset & Wilts One South table as they won an error-strewn game at Folly Lane.
The home side welcomed back centre Alex Payne after two weeks off with a nasty gash to the ear but they coughed up a multitude of early possession before taking the lead through a try from fly-half Gavin Pratt after centre Kris Clayton’s break.
Jason Sprangle converted and then added a penalty to stretch the lead before the Amber and Blues added a second try – an individual effort from hooker Dan Woods.
Hitting the line at pace he burst through three or four tackles and showed good stamina to make it to the line, Sprangle again adding the extras.
Given a dressing down for their first half errors, Warminster dropped the second-half restart and Bridport hit back with a converted try.
The visitors reduced the deficit further with a penalty, but Warminster hit back with a third try through Clayton after an initial break from centre partner Payne.
Sprangle added the conversion and the bonus point score arrived from second row Dean Priestman, who found himself on the wing to finish off an overlap in the corner.
WESTBURY slipped to their second successive defeat as they were downed 15-10 at home by early leaders Oakmeadians.
