ABBEY Meads kept hold of their unbeaten record by the narrowest of margins as they secured a 43-42 over an impressive Jupiter side.
The Abbey Regional League team have not suffered a single defeat so far this season and travelled to Bridgwater in confident mood as they looked to keep their run going, although hosts Jupiter had other ideas as they raced into a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Excellent shooting from Jupiter goal shooter Paige Davey stretched the home lead to 13 goals at half-time, but a switch in tactics from Abbey coach Larraine Bullpit resulted in a superb third quarter which saw the visitors reduce their deficit to only two goals.
The final quarter was a tense affair, but some excellent defending from Abbey’s Beth Thompson and accurate shooting from Caroline Greenfield and Chrissie Lewis saw Abbey take the lead and sneak a one-goal victory.
