GOALS from Mark Barnes and Neil Clark saw Devizes Town notch up their second derby victory of the Christmas period as Justin Webster and Darran Walters’ men beat Corsham Town last weekend.
Barnes got Devizes’ first before fellow striker Clark netted from the penalty spot to seal a 2-1 triumph over Trevor Rawlings’ Corsham at Nursteed Road.
Meanwhile, it was honours even as Chippenham Park drew 3-3 with county rivals Warminster Town.
Top-scorer Mark Robinson, Jordan Pinder and Shane Blackmore were all on target as Dave Ferris’ men shared six goals with Warminster at Hardenhuish Park.
There was disappointment for Calne Town as they were unable to put the brakes on runaway league leaders Bradford Town, with Glenn Armstrong grabbing the consolation goal as Simon Gardner’s men were beaten 4-1.
In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Wootton Bassett Town notched up their biggest win of the season so far as they thrashed Holyport 6-2 at the Corinium Stadium.
Jason Milhench and Ryan Stanners both netted twice whilst Sam Ockwell and Tyler Sheppard were also on target as Jeff Roberts’ Bassett, who had drawn their last three matches, hit the goal trail.
But in the Sydenhams League Division One, Pewsey Vale slipped to only their third defeat of the season as they were edged out 1-0 at home by Cowes Sports.
