Decision made regarding GB boss but the wait goes on
A DECISION has been made regarding who will be the next Great Britain manager, the Advertiser understands.
The BSPA managing committee, made up of Alex Harkess, Jon Cook, Chris Van Straaten, David Hoggart and George English, met today to discuss the issue and came to a conclusion, although the candidates have yet to be informed.
It is believed to be a straight fight between Robins boss Alun Rossiter and former Birmingham team manager Phil Morris, while Gary Havelock and Rob Lyon also applied for the position vacated by Poole chief Neil Middleditch.
It is thought the candidates will be informed by email in the coming days before a formal announcement is made.
Meanwhile, Robins skipper Troy Batchelor does not require surgery on the knee ligament tear he suffered riding in the Australian Championship second round in Undera on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old saw a specialist yesterday who confirmed the medial ligament in his left knee would heal naturally in the next four to six weeks, meaning he will be fit for the start of the European season in mid-March.
