SUPERMARINE coach Sean Millwaters was frustrated to see his side’s league game against Melksham called off due to an unsafe pitch.

“We were really looking forward to play, we had a strong team and were confident of getting the win. Unfortunately there was standing water on the pitch so after an inspection the groundsman called the game off. If a scrum goes down or you’re at the bottom of a ruck it’s dangerous and you’ve got think about health and safety.”

Millwaters said the postponement adds pressure to his team who are now ten points behind leaders Trowbridge but have two games in hand.

“If we win games with both bonus points we’re joint top. Knowing we have to win both games just adds a little bit of pressure to achieve the goal of winning the league.”
