CHIPPENHAM’S mini league revival was halted as their hosts ended their own run of seven matches without a win in National Three South West.

Weston opened the scoring after 10 minutes when second row Dave Bufton was drive over and James Mackay converted.

However, Chippenham hit back as centre Jon Squire went over in the corner.

Sam Saunders was unable to add the conversion but did kick a penalty shortly before half time to take his side into the lead.

Weston though came back before the break, number eigh George Sparks crossing as the Chippenham pack struggled and Mackay adding the extras.

Mackey landed a penalty ten minutes into the second half and Weston took a firm grip on the game as Sam Smee went over from 30 metres.

Chippenham hit back with a second try late on.
