ADAM Stevens' Lamb Reserves side brought the curtain down on their Division Three league campaign with a 2-1 victory at home to local rivals The Stiffs who were without manager Ade Giles for their derby day battle at Whaddon Lane.

Kieran Palmer’s goal for the Lamb separated the teams at the break and when Ryan Bodman doubled they lead in the second period Lamb threatened to run away with things but that wasn’t to be as the Stiffs responded well and got themselves back in the game when Simeon Player and Dave Carroll combined well down the left hand side to set up Chris Giles who headed home to reduce the arrears.

Chances came and went at both ends with neither team able to add to their tally, the Lamb saw the game out to claim their fourth win for a season that saw them come to folding on more than one occasion before Adam and Roger Stevens steadied the sinking ship.

Trowbridge Rangers 7 Polenez Westbury 0

AFTER beating leaders Holt in their previous league outing at the start of February and claiming a Spring Cup first leg victory over The Stiffs last weekend Polenez Westbury were looking to pick up a hat-trick of victories when they visited Trowbridge Rangers on Saturday afternoon.

But like the last meeting of the sides that Rangers won 6-1 it was James Goddard’s side who took the points, winning 7-0.

Ashley Barnett and Dan Moore sharing the goals, Barnett scoring the opener and Moore making it 2-0 before half time.

After the break Moore struck three more that took his tally for the season to 25, while Barnett who was making his debut for the club went on to complete a hat-trick.
