MINETY were made to pay for missed tackles and kicking away possession as free-running Combe Down outscored them five tries to four in Dorset & Wilts One North.
Minety started poorly and Down took advantage to score two tries.
Flanker Stephen Brown and Jack Ward responded with scores for the visitors, but a further Combe score put them in control at half time.
Two more Down tries left the villagers playing catch-up, Tom Fitzcharles pulling one back and Simon Rowe having a score disallowed.
Brown added another, Fitzcharles converting.
Minety 2nd beat Supermarine 3rd 19-0 in Dorset & Wilts Three North, with tries from Matthew Stone, Matt Oliver and Stacey Skinner, Michael Scott kicking two conversions.
