MARLBOROUGH completed their unbeaten league season as they dispatched top-three side Avonvale with another half-century of points.
The champions, who dropped just one bonus point all season, looked to run the ball with centres Waisale Navunidakua and Amori Nailago excelleing.
Navunidakua’s set up Laurence Baker to score the first try, Nathan Morgan converting before Avonvale responded with a penalty.
Marlborough attacked again and Tom Fleming’s run and Jonny Mantle’s pass set up skipper Jamie Pittams to score, Morgan again converting.
Mantle’s break then set up fly-half Laurie Woolcott for another converted effort.
Morgan’s monster kick set up the next scoring position, Mantle’s lineout win and a powerful run from Jack Lynd allowing Ben Beanland to get on the scoresheet.
A similar passage of play led to Adam Whatley fielding a clearance kick and feeding Morgan who made it 31-3 at the break.
Playing into a strong second-half wind, scrum-half Will Grant set up Nailago before wing Bruce Vuentatatoka’s run was halted, only for Morgan to pick up and score.
Mantle finished off another good passing move from Navunidakua and Vuentatatoka, who got his deserved score before the end.
