FOUR Wiltshire swimmers have been named in the British Gas GB Para-Swimming team for the 2014 IPC Swimming European Championships in Eindhoven.

Corsham's Stephanie Millward, who swims for the Aquae Sulis club in Bath, secured qualifying times in both the S9 100m backstroke and 400m freestyle at the British Para-Swimming International Meet last weekend and is included in the party for the August event.

Corsham ASC's Craig Harris is also on to Eindhoven after achieving one European standard qualifying time from the meet, in the SM14 200m individual medley.

Trowbridge ASC's Chloe Davies and Aaron Moores will also be competing, Moores achieving the required mark in the S14 100m backstroke, as did Davies in the women's version of the same event and the 200m freestyle..

Head Coach Rob Greenwood said: “We have selected a strong team of athletes that have got a good mix of youth and experience.

“This meet is about gaining experience and learning ahead of Rio so we can see where our athletes are and how we can continue to improve. Some of our athletes’ main rivals are European so it will be a good opportunity to put in good races and see where they are at against some of the best athletes in the world.”
