ROBINS reserve Steve Worrall is facing a race against time as he bids to complete two meetings in a day.

The youngster lines up for Premier League Edinburgh in their clash with Scunthorpe at 3pm and is then set to dash 200 miles down the M1 and M40 to ride for the Robins against Birmingham.

Worrall knows he’s in for a hectic day but, in truth, he’d rather have it no other way as he bids to get used to the Blunsdon track.

“It’s going to happen and I know it’s going to be a busy one, but I’m looking forward to it because I need to ride at Swindon more,” he said.

“I’ve not been there anywhere near enough and I need to get used to it. The best way of doing that is by doing as many laps as I can.

“Missing meetings really isn’t helping me do that and I will do everything I can to make sure the team is winning. I can’t do that if I’m not there so, even though it’s going to be a mad day, I’m looking forward to it.

“I was happy to see the meeting get rained off on Thursday because it means I am able to ride and earn some more money.”

Worrall is likely to use one bike for his Premier League meeting and another at the Abbey due to the fact he has no time to wash his equipment between meetings, but he’s happy to spread his machinery thinly in order to help the Robins take a much-needed win.

“There won’t be any time to wash bikes, it will just be a question of throwing bikes in the van.

“I’ve got two bikes so I will probably end up riding one of them at Scunny and then bringing the other down to Swindon.

“This is a match we need to win to give ourselves a real kick up the bum because we’ve not been good enough. We need to take all the points from this match.”

Adult admission and all concessions have been reduced to £10 for tonight’s meeting.
