CHIPPENHAM ASC Synchro swimmers competed for the Walsall Trophy against six other clubs from the south west at Cheltenham on Saturday – winning the event for the first time since 2008.
The Chippenham synchro girls won the novice duet with Lillia Barnett and Evie Garrett performing a routine for the first time.
Bethany Barnett and Zoe Bird came third in the Skill 1 duet and Abbie Cross and Soraya Chesworth first in the Skill 2 duet. The junior team and the senior team both took the silver medals.
- SIX swimmers from Chippenham ASC competed in the recent regional championships held in Plymouth.
Amy Hall swam in six events with a best position of 14th in the 200m butterfly, while Chloe May competed in the 200m backstroke, finishing 31st.
Matt Hare swam seven events, appearing in two finals, finishing fifth in the 200m butterfly and ninth in the 50m fly.
Hare swam four personal bests at the championships.
Jon Branston had personal bests in all four events he swam and Peter Holden a best in the 400 IM. Jack Cook swam a swift 50m free to finish 26th.
