FATHER-OF-TWO Andy Webb wants to carry on stepping into the ring to try and set an example for his children.
The 32-year-old, from Chippenham, already has eight fights under his belt and will have reached double figures midway through next month after boxing twice in the South West.
Webb, who works and trains at Spartans Gym on the Cricketts Lane industrial estate, is fighting Oxford’s Lewis Mackay at the Spartans’ home show at Neeld Hall on July 5 before going toe-to-toe with Gavin Towler-Wilson for Bristol Fight Club’s Western Masters light-heavyweight title on July 19.
And the Chippenham personal trainer is hoping that his fight career can help show sons Kenzie, five, Kody, two, and step-son Josh, 11, what can be achieved through hard graft.
“I grew up kickboxing at Spartans gym and now I’ve had eight fights,” said Webb.
“I know that fighting isn’t the best thing in the world but when I get out my scrapbook, I want to be able to show my kids that you can achieve the unachievable if you work hard.
“I’ve won five and lost three and if I win in Bristol, it could set up a WCA (World Combat Arts) title fight for me.
“My girlfriend Emma puts up with me training all the time and helps will all my meals – she’s my rock, really.”
