SWINDON pool duo Nigel Olding and Jason Godbeer had a successful weekend at the Eight-Ball Pool Championships in Blackpool last week.

Olding was part of the victorious England A seniors team that took the World Seniors Team crown. England saw off Australia in the semi-finals and and then convincingly beat Malta 5-1 to take the title.

Godbeer came through three rounds to reach the the quarter-final of the men’s seniors competition. The 147 player eventually lost 7-4 to Australian Steven Gray, who had earlier beaten Olding in the second round and would go on to finish runner-up.
