CHARLOTTE Harding was the only competitor to win more than one title at the Swindon and District Women’s Bowling Association finals day held last Sunday at Supermarine.

The Wootton Bassett bowler took the honours in the ladies singles and ladies pairs, while Highworth’s Linda Kingston went into finals day hoping for to win a treble but only managed to secure one title.

That success came with Highworth club colleague’s Maggie Jordan and Joanna Richman as they won 28-7 in the Charity Triples final.

Earlier in the day Kingston had been outbowled in the champion of champions final losing 21-10 to Wanborough’s Deanne Davis, and then failed to beat holder Alison Fail in the secretary’s singles final.

Shrivenham’s Val Carter added to her Swindon and District successes in the two wood singles.

Stratton Churchway won both matches 21-15 and 27-13 respectively for a comfortable 48-28 success.
