SEMINGTON Magpies finally got their Division One season under way – but it was an afternoon to forget as they were thrashed 9-1 by Hilperton United.

United’s Joe Chettleburgh had a debut to remember, scoring six times.

Dean Coles struck twice and Jason Rose also netted to hand Magpies their biggest ever league defeat.

North Bradley hit top form at home to a struggling Steeple Ashton side who they beat 7-0.

Scott Askew, Steve Jackson’s hat-trick, including a penalty, Darren Jones, substitute Pete Spong and Ali Bradley scored the goals.

Castle Combe saw off Trowbridge Town Reserves 4-1, all the goals coming in the first 45 minutes. Combe’s Karl Sharratt saw his opener cancelled out by Damien Hateley, but Clint Couzens, Mike Jenkins and Scott Nash sealed the points.

Warminster Town Reserves suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bradford United, Kegan Smart scoring the only goal.
