MELKSHAM Town manager Darren Perrin is hoping that his side can enjoy some home comforts as they look to get back to winning ways in back-to-back fixtures at the Conigre.

Perrin’s side saw their four-match winning run come to an end as they were beaten 2-0 at Shepton Mallet last weekend but Melksham have the chance to bounce back when they host Cadbury Heath on Saturday and Brislington on Monday.

And the Conigre chief is in no doubt that that his team have been providing value for money at home so far this season.

“We play quite expansive at home, which does leave a few gaps at the back when we go forward. There was the 6-4 against Street, the 4-3 against Odd Down and the 3-0 win against Longwell Green, so that’s 20 goals right there,” said Perrin.

“Hopefully we’ve got the chance to bounce back because it was a shame to lose the mini run we’d been on recently.

“It didn’t help our cause on Saturday when we conceded a goal after 80 seconds and that knocked us out of our stride for the first 15 minutes.

“But after that, I was delighted with our performance. We created lots of chances and when we sent everybody but the goalkeeper forward in the 93rd or 94th minute, that’s when the broke and scored their second.”

Melksham are still suffering an injury crisis and had no less than ten first team players unavailable for the trip to Shepton.

Dan Kovacs is set to miss the double-header with Cadbury Heath and Brislington but Perrin has made a move to bolster his attacking options after making a seven-day approach for Bradford Town striker Dan King.
