GREYHOUND have gotten out of the traps quickly this season and are the early pace-setters in Division One.

After beating last season’s champions AFC Gas on the opening day of the season, they continued their impressive start with a 13-1 win over Inter Sandgate.

Eight different players got themselves on the scoresheet for Greyhound as the team who finished runners up last term look to go one better this time out.

Dan Drewitt got himself a hat-trick for the hosts to add to braces from Rory Sproule, Nathan Blackford and Jamie Richards, while Ryan Stanners, Danny Cole, Dave Gee and Dave Slattery from the penalty spot completed the rout.

“We went one nil down and I thought it was going to be one of those days where we kept missing chances and hitting the post and crossbar, but when we got the goal it just seemed to come together,” said manager Dave Hawkins.

“It was played in a good spirit and by the end it was just a bit of enjoyment for the lads.

“What we have said to the players is just to play the game in front of them. We won’t look at the league or cup and see where we are.

“Sure, I think we can compete for the league. We competed last year and are always there or thereabouts but we especially made better additions in the summer.”

In the only other top flight game, SKS Blyskawica also continued their 100 per cent record with a 5-0 win over FC Walcot.

In Division Two, Deers Leap have now scored 13 goals in their opening two matches after securing an 8-1 win over Penhill United.

KC Globe also made it two wins from two with a 3-0 away win at Wanborough.

In Division Three, Tap and Barrel went top of the league with a 7-0 win over Rudis.

AFC Freshbrook moved top of Division Five thanks to a 5-1 victory over Nationwide.

Zach Ockwell netted a brace whilst Aaron Valters, Tom Ballard and Dan Barnes also got themselves on the scoresheet.

In Division Six, Westbrook notched up a second successive win as they thrashed Cricklade Park Rangers 7-0.

Craige Roberts starred with four goals whilst John Horgan, Rich Clark and Junior Small were all also on target.

Rosier Rovers’ first league game of season saw them defeat Northern Lights 11-0.

Chris Milne scored a hat-trick whilst Dan Callaghan and Jack Richens hit a brace each, while William Rosier, Mike Wilkins, Wayne Grant and Tom O'Donnel also bagged a goal apiece.
