DEVIZES Town joint-boss Justin Webster is hoping that his side receive a boost from their fine victory over Cribbs last weekend.

Despite slipping a goal behind early in the second period, Webster and Darran Walters’ men inflicted a first league defeat of the season on their Bristol-based opponents thanks to goals from Rory Collins, Kris Beasley and Matt Minnis.

“They’re a good side but we played really well and deserved the win,” said Webster.

“They scored with a cross that flew over the keeper’s head but we came back with a goal from Rory Collins, a Kris Beasley header and a screamer from Matty Minnis.

“Matty’s a freestyler so as you can imagine, his touch is amazing and he knows where the net is. Blaine Fitzgerald has pretty much committed to playing for us now too so with those two up front, we should have some firepower.

“We have had a few lads that have moved on but maybe they weren’t up for the battle. Tom Price is one that’s stepped down to join Wroughton but we only want players who are 100 per cent committed to playing for us at the club.

“We need to try and win next weekend. There’s no point beating one of the top sides and then losing the next game.”
