BASSETT were on the end of a midweek 5-0 hiding from Kidlington on Tuesday.

Paul Braithwaite’s men, who lost 3-2 at home to Ascot United on Saturday, were in trouble inside the first ten minutes as Ryan Curtin fired home twice.

It got worse for the visitors as first Tom Castle and then Jack Quainton found the net.

Bassett’s misery was completed before the break as Curtin fired home from the penalty spot, although the visitors did at least have some small consolation that the score was not added to in the second half.

It was Bassett’s third consecutive defeat ahead of FA Vase second qualifying round appointment with Abingdon Town at the Corinium Stadium on Saturday.
