Our current chairman Lee Power is doing a sterling job.

A football man, he’s played the game, and has been involved at various levels for many years.

Ideally though, I would love the club to one day return to the fans, and be run by a group of people who not only cared passionately about Town, but Swindon and the surrounding area as a whole.

Thankfully there is such a group of people – TrustSTFC.

The Trust has been around for a number of years, but has become more prominent as the club has been passed around from owner to owner in recent years.

On matchdays this season you may have seen and heard the Trust at the ground trying to interest people into signing up.

They have been hugely successful, with 1000 people already deciding to become members.

I am a member and would highly recommend all Town fans getting behind TrustSTFC in their efforts to bolster the links between the community and the club, encourage the club to be fully accountable and, in the future, hopefully have some fan representation on the board.

With many clubs all over the country being slowly swallowed up by foreign investors, and losing their identities, it’s important that supporters rally together and support these groups to protect their club.
