ALAN Low is looking to turn Ballard’s Ash into a fortress as his Royal Wootton Bassett side look to return to winning ways tomorrow.

It has been a mixed start to the season for Bassett but they remain unbeaten at home after opening the season with a convincing 60-0 win over Bicester before beating High Wycombe 20-15.

That good home form has not been echoed on the road though and Low said that he would be doing a lot of work in training this week with his squad after a flat performance against Marlow last weekend left him searching for answers.

Low’s men play host to a Milton Keynes side who are yet to get a point on the board this season despite winning one of their four opening games.

Last weekend they suffered heartbreak as they conceded ten points in the last three minutes to succumb to a 33-30 defeat at home to Thatcham.

“The weather that we have had has had a bit of an effect on what we can do in training this week,” said Low.

“We will try and put a few wrongs from last weekend right this week.

“We’ll have to review how we warm up in training this week.

“Performance wise, we always go out and expect to win every game of rugby we play at home and make Ballard’s Ash a sort of fortress, and then anything we can get on the road is a bonus.”
