MELKSHAM travelled to league leaders Coombe Down but failed to take their chances.
Jack Briggs crossed the try line for Melksham and a penalty, while Callum Hurn slotted a penalty to leave his side just behind to a try and two penalties.
Melksham took the game to their opponents on a number of occasons, only to be denied on the line by a well-drilled home defence.
Both teams battled on in the second half, Combe striking twice more using their pacy backs to get around the visitors’ defence.
