SHRIVENHAM play host to Milton United tonight with manager Sam Collier hoping it will be a chance to end their dismal run of form.

Shrivvy lost again on Saturday when they travelled to Holyport but Collier says he is in it for the long haul and hopes his side luck will change quickly.

“It is another game and another chance to end the dismal run we are on at the moment,” he said.

“Saturday seemed to sum up the luck we are having at the moment, I think we went there and did really well but for one silly goal from 60 yards which everyone has left and it has gone in.

“We have got to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and keep plugging away.

“I’m certainly not going anywhere, I am going to see this out and we still have 27 games left.”

Shrivenham will have new signing Steve Olphert available after he signed yesterday from Clanfield, where the midfielder was captain and made over 300 appearances for the club.

“Steve is a midfielder with a lot of experience and he scores a few which is good.

“I know a few people who know him well and I have heard nothing but good things about him and it is good that he can see the long term picture.”

Meanwhile Wootton Bassett Town travel to Oxford City Nomads hoping to improve on their 2-2 draw away to Bracknell Town on Saturday.

Highworth Town suffered a 4-1 defeat at second placed Ascot United last night in the Premier Division.

Meanwhile Chippenham Town fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Redditch United in the Southern League Premier and Cirencester Town exited the Red Insure Cup following a 4-2 loss to Shortwood United.
