A STIRRING second half fightback wasn’t enough for Chippenham Park to stop themselves coming out on the wrong end of a seven-goal thriller last weekend.
Park quickly found themselves 3-0 down, with Dan Cottle, Rhys Cook, Mark Reynolds all on target for the hosts before Josh Ferguson’s powerful strike reduced the deficit.
But Cook notched his second just before half-time to restor Welton’s three-goal lead.
After the Rovers’ keeper spilt Rob Pocock’s ball forward, Dan Price pounced to make it 4-2 and when Mark Robinson beat two defenders before firing home, Chippenham were in the ascendancy.
But time ran out for Dave Ferris’ men, who slipped to their sixth defeat of the season.
Park host Hengrove Athletic this weekend.
