WOOTTON Bassett coach Alan Low thinks his team have every chance of upsetting Southern Counties North leaders Stow-on-the-Wold tomorrow.

Mid-table Bassett go looking to bounce back from their home defeat to Thatcham last Saturday when they make the trip to their Gloucestershire opponents, who are joint top-of-the-table alongside Aylesbury.

Low is certain that his side will face a tough task toppling Stow but is keen to concentrate on seeing the signs of progression from Bassett as they develop week-by-week.

“When we went there last season, the conditions were some of the worst that I’ve ever seen rugby played in,” said boss Low.

“It was windy and rainy, and they just dealt with the conditions so much better than we did.

“Obviously, they’re a very organised and structured side. But if we can cut out some of the small errors we made last week, then we should have every chance of going there and getting a result.

“Last weekend, Hamish Keith and Duncan Fulling played at nine and ten for the first time and that’s all part of our development.

“It very much is a development year this season because we’re looking to have a big year next season.

“Gavin Ougan may also be back from his foot injury for us.”
