TIME is running out to let us know who you think should lead our list of nomintions for the 2014 Adver Sports Awards.

With the year drawing to the close, the Swindon Advertiser is looking for help from readers as we put together our list of nominations.

The Adver will celebrate another superb 12 months of local sporting achievement in a ceremony early next year with the process of shortlisting candidates for nominations for our awards now under way.

But we also want to hear from our readers on who should be up for consideration for the awards.

Swindon Advertiser sports editor Owen Houlihan said: “It’s been another excellent year of sporting achievement in the Swindon area and we’re determined to recognise those achievements in our annual awards.

“The process of drawing up shortlists of nominations in each category is always a difficult one, which is why we’re asking for our readers’ help to identify those sports men, women and youngsters from our circulation area who deserve to be considered.”

Boxer Kelvin Young and swimmer Jazz Carlin claimed the Sportsman of the Year and Sportswoman of the Year awards at last year’s ceremony and we’re also after nominations for the Young Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year.

We’re also looking for a Team of the Year and Young Team of the Year, as well as a winners in the Coach of the Year and Performance of the Year categories.

In addition, we’re seeking candidates for nomination for our Unsung Hero award, given to an individual - maybe a coach, groundsman or tea lady - who has contributed heavily to their chosen sport, without wanting anything in return The Sports Personality award is for the man or woman who has made a big impact on Swindon sport in 2014, at whatever level.

A further Special recognition award and Lifetime Achievement award will also be handed out at next year’s ceremony.

There are hundreds of potential winners in Swindon, those who put thousands of hours into sport each year and we want to hear about them.
