  • MELKSHAM’S Jim Escott chalked up another win in the Tuesday Trowbridge Seniors match on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Whaddon with 6 lb 2 oz of roach, skimmers, perch and gudgeon.

Roger Green, from Trowbridge, was next with 4 lb 8 oz of roach, skimmers and perch and there was a tie for third place between Mike O’Neill and Brian Ellis, both from Melksham with 4 lb of roach and skimmers.

Other placings: 5. Alfie Sparks Melksham 3 lb; 6. Pete Craig Devizes 2 lb 12 oz.

  •  WITH the Bristol Avon in flood the Sunday Airsprung match was switched to the Beehive stretch of the Kennet & Avon Canal where Tom Ince, from Trowbridge, won with 11 lb 12 oz of roach and skimmers.

Stan Blackmore, from Trowbridge, was runner-up with 8 lb 4 oz 8 dm of roach and skimmers and Ryan Hurd, from Trowbridge, third with 6 lb 6 oz 8 dm of roach and skimmers.

Other placings: 4. Dave Stone Trowbridge 6 lb 6 oz; 5. Patrick Jay Trowbridge 6 lb 5 oz; 6. Steve Ince Trowbridge 6 lb.

  • THE Bristol Avon at Staverton was in excellent form for the Sunday Trowbridge match where home veteran Dave Baker took top prize with 48 lb of bream.

Jeff Matthews, from Trowbridge, was runner-up prize with bream and roach weighing 32 lb 8 oz, followed by Mick Gunning, from Trowbridge, with 25 lb of roach and skimmers.

Other placings: 4. Kevin Grant Trowbridge & Paul Gunning Trowbridge 17 lb 8 oz; 6. Gerald Lugg Beckington 12 lb 10 oz.

  • SUNDAY’S Wilts Angling Open match fished at Leech Pool saw Stuart White, from Chippenham, win with 210 lb of carp.

Ian Willetts, from Bradford, was runner-up with 150 lb of carp, while Richard Brimble, from Westbury, was third with 86 lb of carp.

Other placings: 4. Matt Skyrme Trowbridge 71 lb 4 oz; 5. Jim Butcher Bradford 70 lb 12 oz.
