TROWBRIDGE claimed their first bonus-point win away from home this season at Buckingham’s Floyd Field.

Steve Ojomoh’s visitors were bombarded early on with high kicks but, using their backs, worked their way upfield and won a penalty from whcih Lloyd Davis gave them the lead.

The home side opened the try scoring after a catch and drive from a lineout, number eight and skipper Phil Wright getting the touchdown.

But Davis booted a second penalty to regain the advantage for Trowbridge.

A carbon-copy of their first try saw Wright go in again for Buckingham but Trowbridge cranked up the pressure and the defence eventually cracked for Dave Finlay to score the first of his two tries.

Davis added the extras but the see-saw nature of the game continued as lock Jamie Temple touched down for the hosts.

Back came Trowbridge before the break, Davis booting another penalty to nudge his side a point ahead.

The visitors started to take control in the second half and Dan Smith was nexton the scoresheet, scoring a well-worked try involving the three-quarters Shai Bonnick, Ashley Chalk, Finlay, George Leat and James Davies.

Davis converted and, with the home pack tiring, Sam Edwards forced his way over for Trowbridge, Davis again doing the honours with the boot.

Looking for the bonus point try, Finlay gathered up a loose ball and cut through the home defence to score under the posts, leaving Davis to add the final conversion.
