Division 1

A HUGE second-half turnaround from Liden saw them beat Wanborough to maintain their third place in the league.

At half-time Wanborough were 1-0 up thanks to a great goal from Tom Moore but after the break Liden pushed on with six goals to complete the turnaround and take all three points.

Division 4 IT took a while but Lydiard Youth Black eventually broke the defensive stand of FC Abbey Meads Colts to win 3-0.

Lydiard Youth took the lead early in the second half when a cross was finished from close range. Abbey Meads came close to an equaliser soon after but Charlie Eustice saw his diving header go just wide of the post.

Lydiard added a second and then broke away to score a third as Abbey Meads pushed to try and get back into the game. Lydiard’s goals came from Will Steckerl (two) and George Moore.

UNDER 11

Division 1

SUPERMARINE boss Julian Legg saluted his players after they came back from 3-2 down against Westbury to win 6-3 at home and progress to the quarter-finals of the Wiltshire County Cup.

Westbury took the lead when their striker scored after breaking through one on one with home keeper Josh Pickett.

The home side did not have to wait long for the equaliser when Josh Godwin picked up a loose ball in the penalty area to slot home.

However, Westbury went straight up the other end and scored again to make it 2-1.

Once again Swindon did not have to wait long to gain parity, with Harry Johnson firing home from just inside the area to make it 2-2.

The visitors got themselves in front at the break, striking late to retake the advantage for the third time.

After a couple of near misses, Luke Legg then drilled home to level the scores once more.

Marine got in front for the first time in the game when Rhys Ward got on the end of a looping header off a Westbury player to poke home.

The home side finished the game stronger, with Zachary Evans adding two more goals not long before full-time to finally put the tie to bed.

UNDER 16

Division 2

HIGHWORTH Town Juniors T retained top spot in Division 2 with an excellent 3-0 away win at Castle Coombe Colts.

Two goals from George Allen either side of a long-range free-kick from Zach Steel secured the win.

Sevenfields United went down 2-1 to Blunsdon FC. The half-time score was 1-1 with United’s goal coming through a Patty Braganaza bicycle kick. The second half was a very close encounter, with Blunsdon nicking it late on.

UNDER 17/18

Division 2

In a topsy-turvy match, Ramsbury stormed into a 5-3 first-half lead before a near collapse required three late goals to win it 8-7.

Wanborough came back in the second half to lead 7-5, but Ramsbury scored three goals in the last few minutes to seal their first win of the season. Wanborough’s goals were scored by Conor Sibley (three), Matt Rees (two), Patrick Gaffney and Ryan Buckenham.
