WILTSHIRE School of Gymnastics youngsters tasted success at the South West National and Compulsory Grades competition last weekend.

This was a regional competition with more than 130 girls from across the South West taking part.

Competing in Grade Four, the Melksham-based club had nine-year-old Violet Browne, from Trowbridge, who finished fourth overall and achieved a distinction.

At Grade Three, 12-year-old Holly Gaiger, from Littleton Panell, went through all her routines cleanly and was highly commended.

Jasmine Frost, 12, from Winsley, and Nicole Parsons, also aged 12, from Melksham, competed at Grade Two level.

Both girls went through all their routines without any mistakes, Frost finishing fourth and Parsons first as both achieved distinctions.

At Grade One, 13-year-old Jessica Daykin, also from Littleton Panel and 14-year-old Robyn Ellison, Trowbridge, competed.

Daykin achieved a distinction and finished first while Ellison was highly commended and finished fourth.

Brown, Frost, Parsons, Ellison and Daykin will now go on to represent the South West at the National Finals competition in Stoke.

The top four gymnasts from each grade represent the South West at the National Finals.
