AFTER losing 4-2 to Frome reserves in midweek, Spitfires Development romped to a 14-1 success over Market Lavington on Sunday.

Hannah Gulliver gave Spitfires the lead after firing home following a fine through ball from Becks Kench with only three minutes gone.

Kench helped double the Spits' lead 11 minutes later when she flicked the ball on to Dani Granato and the duo combined again on 18 minutes for Granato to bag her second, with Kench also on target to give them a 4-0 lead.

Gulliver rolled the into the net to make it five and then Kench added three more before Lavington pulled a goal back to make it 8-1.

Granato completed her hat-trick on 53 minutes before Georgia Coward, who was pushed forward from defence, netted her first of the season.

Gulliver was the third Spits player to complete her hat-trick before Freyja Stevens added her name to the scoresheet in the 77th minute to make it 12-1.

Emma Boughton netted from an acute angle for goal 13 before Granato rounded off the scoring with two minutes left on the clock.

  • Spitfires United edged out Frome Town Reserves 4-3 but put in a lacklustre performance.

Claire Morton, who had earlier fired wide, opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a shot that left the Frome keeper with no chance.

Morton added her second seven minutes later before United had a goal ruled out for a foul on the Frome custodian.

Having levelled the scores, Frome took the lead in the 52nd minute as they piled on the pressure.

Spitfires equalised 19 minutes later when Carla Compton was on hand to tap home Morton’s parried shot.

The high-flying Spitfires had their second goal of the match ruled out when Compton strayed offside on 75 minutes but she made no mistake so after when lobbing the Frome keeper.

Lucy Scrannage gave the Swindon girls the lead after she ran on to a fine pass from Tamzin Davis.

On the stroke of half-time the lead was doubled when Davis’ flagkick was stabbed home by Freya Sullivan.

After the break, Sophie Hynd, Lauryn Isaac and Emily Bowdidge all went close before Davis was brought down in the Westbury area and Scannage drilled home her second from the spot.

  • Spitfires Under 13s cruised to a 13-0 win over Harwell and Hendred.

Courtney Gleed opened the scoring in the first minute and the lead was doubled by Jasmin Hindon two minutes later. Hindon added the third in the 12th minute and then Emily Purvis and Neate both found the target to make it 5-0 at the break.

Morgan Culley opened the scoring in the second half after a fine solo run. Gleed then grabbed her second before Gen Bayliss made it 8-0.

Bayliss and Gleed combined to play in Aimee Prinzi for goal number nine and then Culley made it 10-0 with her second of the game. Bayliss then completed her brace before Prinzi went on to complete her hat-trick with two more to round off the victory.

A depleted Highworth Town Under 16s lost 3-1 to Didcot Casuals.

Jazz Lawton netted twice for the visitors in the first half with Chloe Scanlon on target for Highworth to send them in at the break 2-1 down. Hannah Case put in a solid performance in goal for the hosts, but she was unable to prevent Ailie Lynn from grabbing Didcot’s third.
