SWINDON Flames faced Ash then Chippy Trixters in their second weekend of fixtures after the summer break.

The Flames welcomed goalkeeper Lucy Gruber to the team for her first fixtures with the Flames.

The first game saw Swindon come under early pressure from Ash, who capitalised on early chances to leave Flames trailing 2-0 with less than two minutes gone.

In a fast and furious game, Swindon got off the mark with Tristan Ward following up a Liam Coleman shot and equalised through a Coleman goal on the power play.

Flames then took a 3-2 lead with a second Ward goal, but Ash rallied and scored two goals near the end of the first period to leave Swindon trailing 4-3.

Swindon came back strongly at the start of the second and goals by Charlie Browning and Coleman saw them regain the lead 5-4.

Ash equalised again but Swindon responded immediately with a second goal for Browning and Flames held on for a 6-5 success.

In the second game, Chippy Trixters got off to a cagey start before Swindon ran into trouble with penalties against Alexander Quant and then Harry Llewellyn in quick succession.

However, this galvanised Swindon as Coleman hit a quick-fire hat-trick and Llewellyn struck to give them a 4-0 lead.

Chippy Trixters pulled a goal back before Swindon were penalised again in the last five minutes of the period, but impressive work from Gruber, Wilson, Ward, Coleman and Llewellyn saw them end the period 4-1 to the good.

Swindon managed to avoid penalties for the majority of the second period and goals by Robert Bean, Llewellyn (2), Ward (2) and Coleman saw Swindon run out comfortable 10-3 winners.
