SWINDON Supermarine manager Dave Webb is hoping that the return of Josh Parsons will help fire the Webb’s Wood Stadium men to the play-offs.

The striker is back at the South Marston outfit after spells in the Premier Division with Hungerford Town and Cirencester Town.

With Ashley Edenborough also back at the Webb’s Wood following a season at Division One South and West rivals Evesham United, Webb is excited to see them reunited at Taunton Town tomorrow.

Before Parsons and Edenborough left Marine, they had scored more than 50 goals between them in the 2013-14 season, which fired them into the play-offs.

“We all remember the goals they scored the season before last,” Webb said. “They had a really good partnership.

“They were probably the best in the league and the 50-odd goals they scored between them justified that tag.

“But that is history now, Josh adds competition for places up front – don’t forget Luke Hopper is our top scorer.”

With Parsons returning, Marine have seen Olly Bailey depart for Division One Central side Peterfield Town.

Webb will also be without midfielder Bradley Gray (hamstring) for the trip to Somerset, while Josh Morse (ankle) and Ryan Stanners (holiday) are also missing.

Marine will be looking to take advantage of the Peacocks’ mixed home form tomorrow.

“They are (struggling) a little at home,” Webb said. “They lost to Bognor Regis Town (4-1) in the (FA) Trophy last week at home and that surprised me.”
