ALISTAIR Bradley scored a stoppage time equaliser at Ashton & Backwell United to extend Devizes Town’s unbeaten league run to a third game.

The upturn in fortunes for Darran Walters’ side looked to be coming to an end in Bristol, only for Bradley to spare their blushes.

A Tom Slater penalty cancelled out Ashton’s opener but the home side pulled clear again after the break. However, a second yellow card for Ashton’s Sam Skidmore gave Devizes the impetus they needed to level things up.

Walters was pleased with another good performance from his side as they continue to pull away from the foot of the table, but conceded a point was probably all they were worth.

“Halfway through the game I thought it would be two points dropped if we didn’t go on and win it but when you are 2-1 down in the 90th minute you have to be happy with a draw,” said Walters.

“We played well but we didn’t quite do enough to win it.

“It was a bad tempered game and I was delighted that we kept our composure and kept plugging away.

“We have got a bit of form at the moment and have a home game on Saturday against Portishead which we are looking to win.

“If we can it’ll be 10 points from 12 and that’s more like it. If we can get a few more points we can climb a few places as it’s so close down there.”
