DESPITE the absence of one or two of their first-choice riders, Swindon provided lively opposition but in the end, all-round strength won the day for Poole.

Poole's Ty Geertsen and Maciej Ganczarek were both unbeaten by an opponent, with the latter executing some powerful passes on Steve Harris and Jake Neighbour to entertain the crowd on a damp and drizzly afternoon.

One of the races of the day was in heat 13 when Dean Hook made a strong challenge to pass Neighbour on the final lap but the Swindon rider held on by a hair's breadth.

This was an important win for Poole in their quest to make it to the SWL play-offs while Swindon were left licking their wounds.
