WANBOROUGH'S Louise Hunt has been confirmed in Great Britain's Paralympic team for the Rio Games later this summer.

Hunt, 25, was one of 10 players named by ParalympicsGB at an announcement from New Palace Yard under Big Ben in the Houses of Parliament today.

It will be the Wiltshire woman's second Paralympics, following her appearance at London 2012, with Hunt earning her chance to compete in the women's singles event for the first time, alongside Lucy Shuker and Jordanne Whiley.

Hunt, who has been given a wildcard into the ladies’ wheelchair singles draw at Wimbledon, finished the qualification period ranked 11th in the world, with the top 22 qualifying automatically.

She recorded some of her best results of the year during a tour of Asia this month, making a first singles final at an ITF 1 Series event at the Korea Open in Seoul on June 6, losing 7-6 7-6 to Dutch world number seven Diede De Groot.
